About Us

The Sechelt Garden Club is open to all who are keen to learn about gardening, to foster interest in gardening methods related to plants including vegetable cultivation, to facilitate a forum for the exchange of plants and ideas and to stimulate an interest in environmentally-friendly gardening.

Community Involvement:

  • We have formedĀ  partnerships with groups interested in sustainable food production such as Food Action Network and One-Straw Society, and are supportive of the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden Society.

  • We have been active in bringing renewal to the gardens at the Sechelt Arts Centre, Shorncliffe Extended Care and Totem Lodge. We have worked with the District of Sechelt to beautify the rock wall by the Aquatic Centre. Spring bulbs were donated to the Sechelt Parks department for beautification of community open spaces and many more projects are under way.

Yearly Events:

  • In 2019 we plan to hold two mini plant sales, one in the Spring and another in the Fall during our General Meetings. Check Events page for more details (will be updated when dates are confirmed).

  • In June, every other year, we hold our Strawberry Tea. The last one was in 2018 at the Botanical Garden Pavilion and was very well attended. Games were played, food was shared and many happy memories were created. Prizes were given for the best hat.

  • We alternate with Gibsons and Pender Harbour Garden Clubs to host tours and lunch.

  • We also offer a yearly tour off the Coast.

The Sechelt Garden Club not only offers the very best in gardening, but also fun, laughter and camaraderie.

Membership is $20 for individuals, $30 for families
