About Us

The Sechelt Garden Club is open to all who are keen to learn about gardening, to foster interest in gardening methods related to plants including vegetable cultivation, to facilitate a forum for the exchange of plants and ideas and to stimulate an interest in environmentally-friendly gardening.

Community Involvement:

  • We have formedĀ  partnerships with groups interested in sustainable food production such as Food Action Network and One-Straw Society, and are supportive of the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden Society.

  • We have been active in bringing renewal to the gardens at the Sechelt Arts Centre, Shorncliffe Extended Care and Totem Lodge. We have worked with the District of Sechelt to beautify the rock wall by the rec centre. Spring bulbs were donated to the Sechelt Parks department for beautification of community open spaces. With our Annual Plant Sale, we provide quality plants, trees, shrubs and vegetables for the general public and offer advice and assistance from our club gardeners on how and where to plant items purchased.

Yearly Events:

  • In May we hold our Annual Plant Sale the day before Mother’s Day. This is our main source of fundraising and is guaranteed to ensure a line-up an hour before we open.

  • In June we hold a Strawberry Tea in a member`s garden. Prizes are given for the best hat.

  • We alternate with Gibsons and Pender Harbour garden clubs to host tours and lunch.
  • We also offer a yearly tour off the Coast.

The Sechelt Garden Club not only offers the very best in gardening, but also fun, laughter and camaraderie.

Membership is $20 for individuals, $30 for families
